This sequence of photographs of H.M.S. Glamorgan was taken over a period of years from 1969 to 1971. It covers a time at sea when the captain decided to test Glamorgan almost to destruction by undertaking speed trials whilst also cranking the ship from side to side. The photographer was sent up into the air in the ship's helicopter to record that momentous event. There are images of Glamorgan taking part in the 1969 Torbay Fleet Review and images of the Last Tot issued on board.
If you like what you see in these images from fifty odd years ago then a small donation to the Castle Cary Museum would be much appreciated.
